Charlotte's web is a very famous book for children but probably, as in many other children books, adults can understand better its sense of humor.

In a farm, a girl nurtures a small pig called Wilbur. Eventually, Wilbur is sold to a different farm where his life is in peril (it seems that the pig is going to be sacrified for Christmas). Wilbur makes acquaintance with gooses, sheep and rats but makes friends with Charlotte, a small spider who plans to save Wilbur's life.

The way the pig interacted with the other different animals brought to my mind Babe, el cerdito valiente. The stories are not the same but the atmosphere is very similar. Easy and worthy. 4/5.

Echo Park (2006), de Michael Connelly

No me gustan demasiado los llamados thrillers. De ordinario siento cierto desencanto al terminar su lectura. Pero el otro enraizado prejuicio al que los asocio es que su lectura es fácil, enseguida engancha. Como tenía un vuelo de avión por delante, me hice con este libro (que algún amante del género me había recomendado anteriormente).

Hollywood, un asesino en serie, un policía con problemas y algún político corrupto.

Entretenido y plano. Como la película que intenta. 2/5.

Room (2010), de Emma Donoghue

This is a well done book. It seemed to me to be a difficult book to write. Room tales the story of three months in the life of a 26 years old girl who had been kidnapped when she was 19 and, since then, is kept confined in a hidden room by his kidnapper. But it is especially the story of her only son, conceived and born during her confinement. The book puts the stress mainly in the relationship between mother and son. They live one for the other.

The child is the narrator of the story. Having a small child as narrator, the author manages to present the tough situation of the mother through the simple and happy eyes of the boy. The reader early learns to translate the childlike speech and understands a lot of things that are not said. That characteristic makes original this book, besides the audacious topic of two people alone for years in a small room.

I've read several books with a boy as narrator and this technique uses to be interesting at the begining but somehow boring after a while. This is not the case. However it is true that the novel loses a bit of its strength as it progresses. Good book. 4/5.

Como quieras Tú (1999), de Francisco Fdz.-Carvajal

En breves capítulos el autor va comentando distintos episodios de la Pasión de N.S. Jesucristo.

Dedica la mitad del capítulo a recrear la escena añadiendo a veces alguna explicación o aventurando alguna hipótesis. La otra mitad está dedicada a considerar cómo la escena, las palabras o los hechos meditados tienen sentido para el lector de hoy. La Pasión de Cristo sigue interpelando a los hombres en lo grande y en lo pequeño.

Escrito con fluidez y adecuado para cualquier lector. 4/5
